Packing your Storage Unit

There are a few things to remember before, and during the loading process of your storage unit.

Before you load up your storage unit you need to prepare all your items that your storing properly. This includes getting plenty of boxes, packing material, blankest, possible pallets for the floor or tarps to cover the items. Some of it is personal preference. However following some of the ideas listed here will help you save time and headache in the long run. This includes things like labeling everything properly. Labels can save you a lot of time later, especially if your only going back to your storage unit for that one item you need. Another thing is to make sure you pack things in a way that they won"t break if the shift or move around during transit. 

During 

During the moving into your storage unit, remember to store the heavier items towards the floor and the back of the storage unit. The lighter and more awkward shaped items to a lot better on top of all the other items. Also remember to create isle ways in the unit so that you can access items in the back of the unit without emptying the whole storage unit. Some people like to put pallets down on the floor before they store their items so that they"re off the concrete and they have a little airflow throughout the items. Other people like to put a tarp over all their items to try and prevent dust. 

After 

After you have all your items stored in your unit be sure to get a secure lock for your storage door. the round disc shaped locks are usually the most popular because they prevent someone using bolt cutters to cut the bolt. It may be smart to possibly ask the facility if they provide any kind of insurance plans, so you can have insurance on your valuables.
